Helping a Marketing Agency Build a Psychologically Safe Workplace

A marketing and advertising company was experiencing employee stress and burnout during COVID-19. Many employees lacked awareness of mental health triggers and were unsure when counselling could help. There were also concerns around privacy, confidentiality, and whether HR would have access to therapy-related information.

Safe Space™ introduced an interactive burnout webinar, digital EAP access, self-guided mental health resources, and a secured HIPAA-compliant platform. The approach helped employees better understand when stress becomes unhealthy and how to access support confidentially.

The programme reached a 38% utilisation rate, compared with the 4.5% EAP benchmark cited in the case study. 100% of employees found the webinar helpful, and employees later requested more mental health-related webinar topics. The case also showed increased awareness, open communication around mental health, and stronger psychological safety at work.
