A religion and community organisation wanted to support individuals facing financial difficulties during COVID-19. A donor offered to sponsor $120 counselling sessions for those in need. Many individuals reported feeling sad, moody, and anxious, with work, career performance, relationship, and marital issues also cited as contributing factors.
In partnership with Safe Space™, individuals completed a simple questionnaire so they could be paired with a relevant therapist. Safe Space™ provided a digital EAP experience, self-guided mental health resources, a secured HIPAA-compliant platform, and continuity of care with the same therapist.
The programme achieved a 25% utilisation rate, compared with the 4.3% benchmark referenced in the case study. It also led to an influx of scheduled bookings in October and November. The case highlighted how a more accessible, less intimidating therapy experience can help individuals take the first step toward support.
